英国BMWグループからリリースされる、3世代目となる新型「MINI」。今回、約7年ぶりに「ハッチバックモデル」をフルモデルチェンジ。ラインアップは、レギュラーモデルである3ドア「ハッチバック」「クーパーS」には、2L 4気筒エンジンを搭載。ハッチバック以外は、すべて1.6L 直列4気筒エンジンで、「クーパーS」と「ジョン・クーパー・ワークス」は直噴ターボとなる。エクステリアは、MINIのデザイン・アイコンである、丸型ヘッドライト、六角形グリル、クローム・パーツといった要素を残しながら現代風にアレンジしたモダンなデザインとなっている。新たに用意されたLEDヘッドライトでは、LEDがリング状に発光することにより、夜間におけるMINIの新たなアイコンとなっている。インテリアは、従来のセンター・メーターの場所にはセンター・ディスプレイが装備され、ナビゲーションシステム装備の場合、大型の8.8インチディスプレイが配置される。また、オートマチック・トランスミッション搭載車は、燃費向上により、平成27年度燃費基準を＋5％で達成し、エコカー減税対象モデルとなった。全車右ハンドルのみの設定。
