紫貴船石(台座付)「遠山石」山型鑑賞石水石盆石盆山古色時代水保ちの紹介です。

　紫貴船石は加茂七石の一つに数えられ、硬質で深い色調と白い石灰の模様が特徴の観賞石（水石）や庭石として、非常に希少で価値が高く古く、古くから水石愛好家の中では大変人気のある産地です。大型で重量感ある石相は、京都の加茂川上流（貴船周辺）で産出した、落ち着いた紫色を帯びた最高級の名石で、双岳の間には仙境の渓流の景が顕われ、荒々しい岩肌と相俟って、美しい渓谷美を現出している名品です。底部には、遠き昔に施された擦り加工がありますが、既に古色感溢れ、天然と言っても良い呈をなしています。もちろん、台座上は一切の加工無き天然石で、いにしえの古老水石大家愛玩の一石と思われる逸品です。
