東洋エンタープライズ社(Toyo Enterprises)ブランドのミリタリーレーベル「Buzz Rickson バズリクソン」のM-42パーカー(米陸軍山岳部隊オーバーコート)です。

シルエットは、ヘビーレイヤードやアウターの上から着用することを前提にしたオーバーサイズフィットです。

作品名は「BR14866 BUZZ RICKSON'S M-42 OVERCOATS, PARKA TYPE, REVERSIBLE 」です。

通称M-42パーカーは、米陸軍が1942年に採用したリバーシブルオーバーコートです。
通常の野戦では迷彩効果の高いオリーブドラブ側で着用しますが、山間部の雪中時においてはスノーホワイト側で着用していました。

リバーシブルが故に生地は総二枚張りで、着丈が長くフードも付いていることから、当時としては生地をふんだんに使用した贅沢なコートでもありました。

フードの付いた前立てを最上部まで閉じると顔の半部まで覆い、
またフードに設けられたスナップボタンを留めることで頭囲を縮めて、防風・防寒を意識した仕様となっています。

オリーブサイドの身頃には左右にハンドウォーマーを兼ね備えるスラッシュポケットと、フラップ付きで大型のパッチポケットが装備されています。
着用機会が多くないホワイトサイドはプレーンな状態になっています。

ウエスト部には専用バックルが付いたベルトが内蔵され、絞ることでフィット感を高めることができます。

裾の下部についたスナップボタンは股の下で前後を閉じると、風の侵入を防ぎ、保温性を高める効果が得られます。

フード付きのオーバーコートで基本型を確立したM-42パーカーは、後のM-47パーカーに継承されていきました。

素材は綿100%のコットンポプリン生地です。軽量で乾きが早い特性のある高密度に織られたハリとコシのある生地です。
ミリタリーらしい頑強で無骨な表情ながら、しなやかな着心地も併せ持つ生地です。

フロントは、TALON製ジッパーと、その上下をボタンで留める比翼(ストームフラップ)仕立てで、風が侵入してくるのを防いでくれるつくりになっています。

フードには、スピンドル(丸紐)が通され、絞りを調節できるようにされています。スピンドルには表裏で色が異なる牛革製アイレットが付いています。
