輝きはモルフォチョウの中でも一番強いとも言われております。

モルフォ・キプリス(学名:Cypris morpho)は、新熱帯地域に生息する蝶です。パナマ、コスタリカ、ニカラグア、コロンビア、ベネズエラ、トリニダード・トバゴ、エクアドルに分布しています。いくつかの亜種と多くの形態が報告されています。

コロンビアと中央アメリカでは、モルフォ・キプリスが M. レテノールに取って代わります。解剖学的に本質的な違いがない限り、厳密に言えば後者と地理的な枝として統合できますが、前翅の丸みと上面のやや垂直に配置された白い中央の帯のために、ここでは M. キプリスは区別されています。M. キプリスと M. ヘレナは、他のモルフォ科の昆虫よりも比類のない光沢があり、特に M. キプリスは真の宝石であり、自然界全体でその輝きに並ぶものはありません (Schatz)。光の当たり方によって、この比類のない昆虫の青色はより紫がかった、またはより緑がかった光沢を示し、繊細な白い帯は黄色がかった色調、またはよりバラ色を帯びた色を示します。これは、羽に虹彩光沢があるためです。つまり、羽を見る角度によって色が変わります。これは、光と翅のナノ構造との相互作用によって起こる。青色は極めて純粋で、非常に強い光沢を放つため、他の色は比較すると色褪せたり鈍く見えたりする。マレー・オーストラリア産の鳥羽目鳥類だけが、モルフィド科に匹敵する。彼らは、黄金色の鮮やかな緑色に加え、際立った体型と翅の輪郭がさらなる魅力を添えている。M. rhetenorと同様に、鱗片自体は固定されているが、通常の雌では干渉鱗が欠如しているため、M. adonisグループの全種に共通する原始的な黄土色(真鍮色)の地色を呈している。

Air freight: If the arrival notice exceeds seven days and the status of the goods is not confirmed, a customer complaint will occur and the seller will not be able to report it.
