江戸時代から明治期にかけて、日本男性の下着は褌でしたが、浮世絵に描かれているように前垂式六尺褌が主流でした。高温多湿の日本の夏は暑く、夏季には六尺褌は仕事着でもあり、神輿祭や裸祭では祭着にもなったのです。



「緊褌一番」や「褌を締めてかかる」という言葉は、六尺褌から生まれた格言で、越中褌では「褌をきりりと締めて」というわけにはいきません。



江戸時代の人々が日常当たり前のように締めていた前垂式六尺褌を締めた感触は、越中褌とは違った締め付け感があり、自然と気合いが入るから不思議です。



このたび、愛好者のご要望にお応えし、正統派・和田爺謹製の前垂式六尺褌を製作・販売することにしました。日本男児に生を受けた以上、一度は試してみる価値があると思います。



商品情報



和田爺謹製前垂式六尺褌「江戸っ子」は、関西ファッション連合保証の高級白晒木綿「泉羽衣晒」を使用した自家製の前垂式六尺褌一枚組で、江戸っ子の下着として使われていたものをそのまま再現したものです。当時の江戸っ子の後ろ褌(うしろみつ)の結び方も写真で解説しています。



● 長さ210cm 幅30cm 全周折返し補強



● 前袋式六尺褌や水褌(すいこん)と違って、前垂れ(まえだれ)があり、幅30cmが丁度良い寸法です。歌舞伎では、尻端折り(しりはしょり)したり、股を広げたりすると、着物の裾から前垂れがちらりと見えるのが、男の色気だとされてきました。



● 写真で締め方を説明していますので、参考にしてください。締める場所は、越中褌同様、臍下三寸(約10cm)と腰骨の上端部を通るように締めると緩まず、格好良く見えます。

7. Once items arrive at our Japanese receiving point, buyer feedback must be provided and payment released to the seller. Feedback cannot be modified, and negative or no feedback is not permitted.
8. Refusal of items is not allowed after they arrive at our Japanese receiving point.

Air freight: If the arrival notice exceeds seven days and the status of the goods is not confirmed, a customer complaint will occur and the seller will not be able to report it.
