ブルーアンバーはアンバーの中でもとても特別な種類です。

それはなぜかというと太陽などの紫外線によって特別な色を放つからです。



ブルーパーはもともと地層の中の普通の琥珀で、数千万年前にドミニカ火山が爆発した高温によって、地層に埋められた琥珀が熱分解され、熱分解の過程で生成された蛍光物質である多環芳香分子が琥珀の中に溶け込んで、これがブルーパーの神秘的な色の形成の核心である。



黒い背景の下で、メキシコのブルーパーは青緑色のトーンを示している。紫の光の下で、メキシコのブルーパーは青色蛍光反応を示した。メキシコのブルーパーは他の琥珀とは異なり、マメの木の樹脂で形成されている。
